Background and Experience
Sarmarie has spent over twenty years deeply studying yoga and philosophy, with extensive immersion in several respected traditions. Her journey includes studying Vedanta, the Ashtanga lineage, and the Satyananda Hatha tradition lineage. She has participated in numerous workshops, trainings, and intensives with renowned teachers worldwide. These diverse influences have been embodied into a unique, integrated approach that she brings to all her intensives, blending alignment, breath, movement, and philosophy in a grounded and accessible way.
What the Five Week Intensive Offers
The five week intensives provide a personalised space for deepening yoga practice and enquiry. Grounded in presence and shaped by individual needs, these sessions weave together movement, philosophy, and breath. Participants explore what it means to meet themselves with consistency and care, not to fix or improve but to listen more closely. This space offers rhythm and realignment, guided by steady support. Across five weeks with two sessions per week, participants move through a process of discovery, gently unravelling, integrating, and returning to what feels true.
Who the Intensive Is For
The intensive is designed for anyone interested in clearing the mind and understanding the functionality of the body. It is suitable for advanced practitioners, beginners, people with injuries, and teachers in their early years of teaching who wish to embody deeper aspects that may have been missed in initial training. It is also for those wanting to learn safe adjustment techniques, deepen pranayama practices, and gain greater control over their emotional space. This journey supports education towards a clearer, more conscious way of being.
The Philosophy and Embodiment
While not a psychotherapist, Sarmarie’s teaching deeply integrates the philosophy of yoga to enrich mental and emotional wellbeing. Drawing from ancient texts such as the Upanishads, the Bhagavad Gita, and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, she supports students to embody these teachings in practical ways that transform daily life. This philosophical foundation is a core thread woven throughout the intensive, bringing mind and body into deeper harmony.
